During Christopher J. Maier's tenure at George Mason School of Law Chris served as a special research assistant to Prof. Kimberly Moore, Chair of the Intellectual Property Law Track. In May of 2006 Prof. Moore was nominated to sit as a judge on the Court of Appeals for Federal Circuit. We wish Judge Moore well in her future endeavors.

June 2008:

Partner Tim Maier will attend the “Hot Topics in Patent Law” seminar on July, 21, 2008. Mr. Maier’s former GMU law professor, William Kovacic, now Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, will speak on balancing patent policy and competition policy.

May 2008:

Partner Chris Maier will be attending the American Intellectual Property Law Association's spring meeting in Houton, Texas.

April 2008:

Partners Tim and Chris Maier will be attending the American Bar Association Section of Intellectual Property Law Meeting in Crystal City, Virginia.

December 2007:

An article entitled “Patent Malpractice Suits A Growing Threat” by Ron Zapata, published at IP Law 360 (click here for the article), extensively quotes Partner Tim Maier.  The article showcases our belief that extra precautions are needed in handling patent matters, particularly, for clients having smaller patent portfolios, because each patent represents a substantial investment undertaken by the client to protect their intellectual property. 

Maier & Maier is pleased to announce that Eret C. McNichols has joined the firm as an associate. 

Partners Tim and Chris Maier recently returned from giving a series of lectures on recent USPTO developments in Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, Korea.  They would like to thank everyone who made their visit possible for their kindness and hospitality.

November 2007:

Maier & Maier, PLLC has commited to a paperless office and has a set November 1, 2007 as a goal for one hundred percent electronic filing.

October 2007:

October 2007 Partners Christopher J. Maier and Timothy J. Maier will be attending the American Intellectual Property Law Association in Washington DC, October 18-20th.

September 2007:

September 2007 Partners Christopher J. Maier and Timothy J. Maier will be attending the Intellectual Property Owners annual conference in New York City September 9-11th.

September 2007 Maier & Maier, PLLC welcomes their Max Kaganov to the firm as a law clerk. Mr. Kaganov is a second year law student at George Mason School of Law.

July 2007:

Tim and Chris are sworn into the Eastern District of Virginia, also known as the "Rocket Docket" for patent cases.

May 2007:

Maier & Maier, PLLC welcomes our summer interns which include electrical engineering students and law students.

Partner Timothy J. Maier will be traveling in Europe to lecture on the Patent Reform Act of 2007.

April 2007:

The firm welcomes Roderick Swift as a technical advisor. Rod's technical and real world expertise are valuable to our growing electrical practice group.

March 2007:

Jon Schiffrin has joined the firm as Of Counsel. Jon is currently an Adjunct Professor, Trademarks and Unfair Competition, at Catholic University Law School.

We are please to announce Matthew Barthalow passed the patent bar examination and is now a registered patent attorney.

February 2007:

Maier & Maier, PLLC has moved to their new building, 1000 Duke St., just steps away from the USPTO.

December 2006:

The Firm is pleased to announce that Paul V. Del Guidice has joined the firm as Senior Patent Agent.

November 2006:

Timothy J. Maier will be attending the 2006 Advanced Patent Law Institute at the USPTO headquarters in Alexandria, VA.

October 2006:

Christopher J. Maier will be attending the AIPLA convention in Washington, D.C.

The firm is pleased to announce Diana Petersen has joined the firm as a law clerk. Ms. Petersen is currently pursuing her Juris Doctorate at Georgetown University.

August 2006:

The firm is pleased to announce that Brian E. Dunbar is a technical advisor to the firm. Brian's extensive computer programming experience will be a great asset in the firm's fast growing computer practice.

Timothy J. Maier has been asked to preform a speaking engagement on patent prosecution tips in New York City.

Timothy J. Maier and Christopher J. Maier recently returned from visiting with clients in Eastern and Western Europe.

July 2006:

Timothy J. Maier has been nominated President Elect of the Alumni Association of the George Mason University Volgenau School of Engineering.

Tim and Chris would like to thank the Honorable Judge Richard Linn for giving them a private tour of the Court of Appeals of the Federal Circuit (CAFC).

May 2006:
